DIY retro wallpaper silhouettes

Inke

I saw this post on Inhabitat about INKE’s DIY Recycled Wallpaper Kits and my mind lit up with ideas. Vintage/retro wallpaper is great for so many things, and this is surely one of them. INKE sells pre-cut vintage wallpaper silhouettes (along with a kit for applying them to your walls) of wildlife, trees, interior things (a chair, lamps, etc.), and birds. The patterns available to choose from are awesome/pretty/funky. Also, not to take away from the greatness of what INKE has to offer, but if one wanted a silhouette shape or design that they don’t offer, I can see this as a great DIY project involving some retro wallpaper from Secondhand Rose, Wallpaper from the 70’s, 5qm, or any number of resources out there for vintage wallpaper (share some links in the comments if you have them!). It would be so cool to decorate a kids’ room with wildlife shapes, or a bedroom with a pretty botanical design. So many ideas…that for me will unfortunately have to wait until I am not subject to the decorating constraints of renting our apartment…but someday…

I also love the tags and switchplates above.
