Here are some of the fun things we did when we were in Atlanta that you can do too:
- We walked around Georgia Tech campus (a lot)
- We went to Piedmont Park near midtown to walk (we planned to rollerblade one day...we're still planning on it)
- There is Virginia Highlands, for a great bar scene at night and gelato during the day.
- If you enjoy the tourist scene, there's Centennial Olympic Park, the Coca Cola Museum, the Georgia Aquarium (said to be the only one with whale sharks), Underground Atlanta, and Braves baseball
- And of course if you enjoy shopping, there are tons of malls and shopping areas including Atlantic Station, Lenox, Phipps, Cumberland, and Perimeter.
- If you enjoy food, the places we frequented as poor college students and as returning alumni were Fellini's Pizza, The Flying Biscuit (great for brunch), Pho Bac (Vietnamese noodle soup!), Canton House (dim sum), La Fonda (I liked the fish tacos, Ryan liked the free chips and salsa), Woody's (mmm philly cheesesteaks), Paolo's (mmm gelato) and much more.
So make a weekend of it!
